Wycombe Wanderers took control of the England League One game at home to Accrington and were ahead 2-0. The third period saw a spirited fightback from Accrington that fell just short and Wycombe ultimately won the match 2-1.

Wycombe Wanderers started the match well and took the lead early when Garath McCleary scored in the 9th minute, making it 0-1.

The team increased the lead to 2-0 early in the match when Garath McCleary made his mark as he scored one more time. This occasion he scored in the 15th minute.

The goal that reduced the score to 2-1 came right at the end of the game, when Matt Butcher scored a goal for Accrington. But Accrington ran out of steam. The 2-1 goal was the last goal of the game.

The teams play again on Saturday, with Wycombe hosting Sunderland and Accrington hosting Milton Keynes.
