West Bromwich Albion were victorious away to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship on Saturday. Despite a 2-0 lead by the second half the match was far from over, and the second half saw Blackburn mounting a worthy challenge to West Brom’s lead but West Brom were able to hang on till the end and win the match 2-1.

The visiting team West Bromwich Albion started the match at pace and took the lead straight away at the start of the game. After only one minute Alex Mowatt scored.

Straight after the break, Matthew Phillips scored and increased the team’s lead.

In the 51st minute, Ben Brereton scored, to reduce the score for Blackburn Rovers. But Blackburn Rovers ran out of steam. This brought the final score to 1-2.

Blackburn Rovers have seven points while West Bromwich Albion have 10 after four rounds of fixtures.

The last outing between the teams ended in a 1-1 draw, with Blackburn Rovers at home in July 2020.
