There have been some footballers to have played in the Premier League over the years for a very brief period of time.
Whether it be for a year here and there or whether they only manage a few months, moves will have happened for various reasons.
However, what some of these men managed to do was arguably better than what some of their colleagues who have been at a club for a significantly longer period of time. Indeed, they managed to leave a lasting impression…
Landon Donovan
Landon Donovan joined Everton following the conclusion of the 2010 campaign as he looked to continue to play football during the MLS’ off-season.
He would make an instant impact in the first few months he was at Goodison Park, which led to him returning to Goodison Park in 2012, but once again on a loan deal from Los Angeles Galaxy as they were determined to keep their star man.
Christophe Dugarry
He may have only made 30 appearances for the club across a loan and a permanent spell, however Christophe Dugarry left a lasting impressing during his time with Birmingham City.
He helped them to safety in 2003 as he hit five goals in four games as he formed a brilliant partnership with Geoff Horsfield. Forming the best partnerships and relationships can be applied to almost everything in the world, whether it be with an employee at work or with a casino USA.
Things did tail off a little, however many will remember him for the 2002/03 campaign.
Esteban Cambiasso
Having only just won promotion to the Premier League, Leicester City managed to bring in a huge name in Esteban Cambiasso. The experienced midfielder left an instant impression as he was named the club’s Player of the Year that season.
He decided to leave the club at the end of the season, though, and regrettably missed out on The Foxes’ legendary Premier League triumph!
Taribo West
For gamers that will have played Championship Manager 01-02 back in the day – or even currently – Taribo West used to be a go-to free agent signing that would be made for almost every club that was ever managed. Of course, everyone has many different go-to’s in their daily lives, such as things like their favourite bookmakers and online casino.
Indeed, in the season prior he made a huge impression whilst on loan with Derby County. He helped the Rams to retain their Premier League status that year with his performances in the defence, however his commitments with the Nigeria international team appeared to cost him his chances of remaining at Pride Park.
Vincenzo Montella
Another cult hero of sorts from the Championship Manager 01/02 game, Vincenzo Montella arrived in England after a prolific spell with AS Roma when he joined Fulham on loan in January 2007.
He scored a handful of goals and helped the Cottagers avoid relegation, however Chris Coleman and Lawrie Sanchez appeared against starting the Italian in their first-team XIs, thus seeing him return to Italy.
