Chelsea will be heading into the 2020/21 Premier League campaign with some confidence that they can build upon Frank Lampard’s first season in charge of the club.
With the sale of Eden Hazard in the summer and a transfer ban to contend with, the Blues appeared to have a mammoth of a challenge ahead of them, however the club managed to overcome the challenge in front of them and qualify for the Champions League, whilst also reaching the FA Cup final.
Now, with a full season under his belt, plus the additions of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech – as well as the possibility of Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell – the Stamford Bridge outfit will be looking to challenge for the Premier League title in the 2020/21 campaign.
However, does their fixture list allow for them to do so? It could be a rollercoaster of a ride in terms of emotions for their fans, just like bettors face when they look to find the best online casinos to play at with casinous casinos.
Let’s take a closer look:
September
Chelsea will kick things off with a favourable September as they face Brighton and Hove Albion (away), Liverpool (home) and West Bromwich Albion (away) in their first three matches. Lampard’s side will likely be able to pick up six points at least from those games, although there is no guarantee.
October
The Blues will then look to continue to mount pressure at the top (should things go to plan) as they face Crystal Palace and Southampton (both at home) before travelling to Manchester United and Burnley for away trips. Of course, there is the potential for a slip-up whilst the Red Devils will likely provide Chelsea with the sternest challenge.
November
Sheffield United (home), Newcastle United (away) and Tottenham Hotspur (home) are the three fixtures to be pencilled in for November and this could prove to be a rather tricky month for the Stamford Bridge outfit. The Blues have struggled against all three in recent memory.
December
December can make or break a season for so many sides and with six games to be played across the whole month, Chelsea could certainly fall into that category if they are not careful. Leeds United (home), Everton (away), Wolverhampton Wanderers (away), West Ham United (home), Arsenal (away) and Aston Villa (home) make up a rather testing month where the Blues will need to be at their very best. However, if they navigate it well, they could be big winners, like punters who use cinemacasino.com to find the best online casinos around.
January
Things do not necessarily get any easier for Lampard’s side, as they will face Manchester City (home), Leicester City (away), Fulham (away), Wolves (home) and Burnley (home) in January. Tough encounters where if they are not at the top of their game, they could find themselves way behind the rest of the title challengers.
February
A short month, but still equally as challenging as the rest as there are five matches scheduled to take place – including some top teams. February begins with a trip to Tottenham, before heading to Sheffield United just days later. They host Newcastle before heading to the south coast to play Southampton before reuniting against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge at the end of the month.
March
Everton (home), Leeds and Liverpool (both away) await the Blues in March, in matches that could decide how their season will pan out. Three tough teams that could all still have something to play for as there are only a few matches left to be played.
April
West Brom (home), Crystal Palace (away), Brighton (home) and West Ham (away) all take place in April and could pose Chelsea some problems as all four could be facing relegation battles, therefore all taking their match against the Blues as a ‘Cup Final’. Lampard’s side has struggled before and will want to avoid a repeat.
May
The season will come to an (expected) end in May, where Chelsea will play Fulham (home), Manchester City (away), Arsenal and Leicester (home), before finishing up against Aston Villa (away). The Blues will hope they have done the hard work before May begins, otherwise it could be an extremely difficult month to pick up points.
